As we move into September and another Gospel-centered, missional year of planting Seven Mile Road together, participation in our soulcare communities becomes more vital than ever. As we grow bigger, we have to grow smaller… and we have to do so in a way that fosters both discipleship and mission, for God’s glory and our great joy.
This is why soulcare communities have become essential to our life together. These smaller communities of Seven Milers create the space that is desperately needed for us to see the Gospel rooted deeply in our own souls and in the souls of the others who God is knitting us together with. On top of that, they enable mercy and mission to be done at the street level.
Although Trinitarian, covenantal, Word-focused worship is central to accomplishing Jesus’ mission here, we cannot participate with His work only by gathering on Sundays. We need to be obeying His command to love on another in the daily fray of real life. If you talk with anyone who is in a soulcare community, they will let you know about the immense grace that God pours out when we draw near to Him and each other… grace that necessarily overflows the banks of our smaller communities and begins transforming the world we live in.
Pastors Kevin and Brent are working hard on leading us into the new season of soulcare at Seven Mile. Communities currently exist in Malden, Melrose, Medford, Saugus and Beverly. At least 2 new groups will be forming this Fall, and we’re also working on a weekly soulcare community for moms with childcare provided.
And so… we would love for as many of us as can to participate in a Seven Mile soulcare community this year.
Email either Kevin or Brent to be connected with a soulcare community for the Fall.
