Deadbeat Jesus

Is there anything worse than a 'deadbeat' dad? He skips town and abandons those closest to him. When the going gets tough, he gets going. As you keep reading John, you come across a scene where Jesus looks like he's going to do the same. He gathers the disciples around Him and tells them that He's going away. What's worse, they can't go with Him. The disciples are greatly troubled. After all, they had left everything to follow Jesus, and now Jesus was going to leave all of them. Yet Jesus assures them that it's a good thing that He goes away because He will send the Holy Spirit. Jesus will be closer to His people than we could have ever imagined.
