Noonday in the Presence of a Strong, Holy God

Hands are clapping, voices are singing, trumpets are blasting, feet are dancing! Tambourines are even rattling! Exclamation points are everywhere! Every tribe, tongue, city, nation, man, woman, boy and girl is given reason to rejoice. God is sovereign, and that is a really good thing for all! Exuberant, we praise! Psalm 47, a global call to rejoice in the greatness of Israel’s God, captures for us the words and tone of celebratory prayer, prayer that catches a vision of the righteousness and glory of God.
