romulo

Little Romulo was eight months old when he was brought to Boston Shriner's Hospital from Guatemala to recover from the horrible burns he suffered in Guatemala.  He was as small as a newborn due to malnutrition and hooked to all sorts of machines to cleanse his wounds from infection. He had been severely wounded when a candle fell on his bed then was neglected by his parents.    A pastor who was visiting his remote village discovered him and brought to a missionary couple.  Romulo made it to a hospital hours before certain death.

Yet, you would never know what he had been through by the smile on his face.

This bubbly little boy now had hope.  He was in the care of Samuel (the pastor who had found him) and his wife.  Our soul care group wanted to support all of them on their visit.  We were able to spend time with them while they were here and provide a cell phone to Samuel and Maria so they could keep in touch with their own children.  We fell in love with this beautiful child who was full of joy in the midst of his constant pain. We were incredibly blessed by the love Romulo's Heavenly Hather has shown him through his wonderful recovery.

Currently, a couple from our group is seeking to adopt Romulo - not an easy task since U.S. adoptions from Guatemala have been suspended due to abuses in the system. For the time being, we are so grateful that he is in the care of Love the Child a wonderful orphanage in Guatemala.. Please keep Romulo and his pending adoption in your prayers.
