pastor track
One of our big visions for Seven Mile Road Boston is that we will prepare the souls of many, many pastors/planters for a lifetime of healthy, missional, Gospel-centered leadership in the life of Jesus' church.
This is less of a vision we came up with, and more of something that has just sort of happened. Seemingly out of nowhere, a crew emerged from the life of our church saying "I think Jesus is calling me to pastor. And I want to do it like it's happening here. Can you help?" Yes was the obvious answer, and so we've developed a Track designed to getting people ready for the immense weight of being as pastor.
While the Track has much in common with the philosophy of our soulcare communities (much prayer, wrestling with Scripture, confession, conversation, trying to weave the Gospel throughout every aspect of life, junk food), it is also weighted toward working through the unique realities of pastoring/planting churches. Since the call to serve as an undershepherd to Jesus is such a noble and intense one, we are committed investing much time and energy into doing this very prayerfully and very carefully.
