Miriam and her mom were found by American soldiers in Iraq and, really long story short, were brought here by the Ray Tye Foundation to receive medical treatment for an aggressive, cancerous tumor that covers one whole side of her face. She was born with this tumor, and her father left them upon birth. The tumor has broken her jaw and perforated her eyeball. She has been receiving chemo-therapy until surgery can be attempted.
The mother and daughter have become very dear to us as we have come alongside them to provide many of the necssities of life, including helping them secure and furnish an apartment while they are here in the States. Miriam is a joyful little girl, who loves music, her mom and our family.
