I am the firstborn of a big family of seven kids, the product of major grace that was poured out on my parents in the mid 1970's.

As a native Buffalonian, I've had a twenty-year tragic love affair with the Buffalo Bills football team, which has helped teach me important theological truths about suffering and the hope of redemption.  It was in Western NY that I played baseball, learned to love writing, attended Houghton College as a would-be History teacher, and met my beautiful wife Laurel.  The plans to teach school went by the boards a long time ago, but I am still actively involved in coaching baseball and writing.  Basically I feel like Robert Frost when he said, 'Nothing flatters me more than to have it assumed that I could write prose - unless it be to have it assumed that I once pitched a baseball with distinction."

In 2006, Laurel and I were married.  We worked together in youth ministry in Utica (another upstate NY gem) before moving to the North Shore where I have logged a year of study at Gordon Conwell. Our first week in Massachussetts we found a home at 7Mile Road and have consistently been blown away by the centrality of the Gospel in this church.  God has increased my love for the local church in this past season and I have recently plugged into the Elder Track.  We feel incredibly privileged to be part of this community and I am looking forward to chances to serve this church in the future.
